Downtown Hammond, IN Master Plan (CNU award)

With the announcement of new commuter rail service to Chicago and the emergence of a surprisingly robust housing market demand, downtown Hammond is ready to punctuate a decades-long economic decline and jump-start its downtown revitalization.

While at Stantec, worked with urban planner Jeff Speck to craft a master plan to retrofit Hammond’s downtown core into walkable neighborhood through public realm interventions, publicly and privately owned real estate rehabilitation and redevelopment, and a dramatically improved multi-mobility network leveraging
future transit service and existing regional bike corridors.

Speck & Associates and Stantec’s Urban Places won a Merit Award in the Neighborhood, District, and Corridor category of the CNU 2023 Charter Awards.
